You don’t me. You don’t know that I have an irrational fear of being eaten by a giant squid or that my mustache has a natural curl, but I am about to reveal my utmost personal character. I have been experimenting with life some several decades now and having been rather successful at it, still alive and kicking that is, I wanted to share some things with you.
I have always been infatuated with imagery, ever since my first exposure to great American Classic photography as a young man as well as the travel and people shots from such magazines like Natural Geographic and others. I have had a rich and varied career in several industries (add extra points if you consider “starving artist” as a industry) and all the while I have struggled to understand such life mysteries as “is it form over function or function over form?” and “ “how do they get that inside the Twinkie” and other things that everyone thinks about. Deep thoughts to ponder in my early days when I worked as an Architectural Designer and even earlier as a struggling musician in a rock band “do I want the pretty guitar or the one that feels the best in my hands?”. I still struggle with this question although now I can afford more guitars.
I spent most of my career as an Earth Scientist contemplating the eternal questions of “what does it all mean?”, “what does it take to become a great photographer?” or simply WTF? Traveling to remote parts of the world or just riding my Harley across the northern plains gives you time to think about these things.
I’m sure that you will agree, or not, that my photographic Art (mind you they are not pics, after all, I’m a professional) inspires you to the highest levels of intellectual and emotional bliss…..even Nirvana, so much so that you will immediately send me a message asking me to provide you with numerous copies of my images or use my magical skills to produce one-of-a-kind works of art, product images or portraits (especially if you are an inspiring musician, artist or rock band).
See the stuff below, you know what to do.
I wanted to write something deep and profound on this page but I felt like all the clever things have already been said. So let me just say that all life is movement. Time, distance, travel, age, are just the moments that we are alive. My photography is that exploration, that quest, to capture life’s movement, in place, in light and in shadow. I sincerely hope that you enjoy these images as much as I have capturing them
